Conversation with Valentina Temussi, Sanna Toivanen e Oscar Valsecchi - Artistic Co-directors and performers at ToTum TeaTre (Barcelona, Spain) - on "The Creative Process as a Manifesto". Guests will be discuss with Armando Rotondi (Co-director of Mise en Abyme and Associate Professor at the Institute of the Arts BArcelona) about their experience as artists and about the movement and the body as creative language, code and communication tool.
Organised by Mise en Abyme – International Journal of Comparative Literature and Arts, in partnership with IDEA, Ad Est del Mondo, and ToTum TeaTre, and it is part of the official national programme of "Il Maggio dei Libri".

Valentina Temussi is a Movement Lecturer, Director, Actress and Theatre Maker. She holds a BA and an MA in Theatre and History, and she completed a PhD at LJMU. She has trained artistically and has graduated from the International School of Corporeal Mime of London, where she then completed the post-graduate program in Teaching and Directing.
Valentina has collaborated with the international company Théâtre de l’Ange Fou touring in Brazil, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Spain and United Kingdom. Valentina is a member and co-founder of the Physical Theatre company Totum Teatre. She worked as Project Manager and Principal Investigator for the IAB in the Creative Europe funded project “Make a Move – An Art incubator for contemporary European non-institutionalised and independent theatre”. Her recent works include choreographing the performance of the opening ceremony of the Netball World Cup 2019 at the Arena, Liverpool (UK), and collaborating as choreographer at the performance of the opening ceremony of the Uniglobal International Conference 2018 at the Arena, Liverpool (UK).
Additionally, Valentina is a member of the Editorial Board of the EASTAP Journal - European Association for the Study of Theatre and Performance.
Sanna Toivanen studied theatre and performing arts in her native country Finland where she also participated in different theatre groups before arriving to Barcelona, where she finished her studies in Corporeal Mime and physical theatre. She also has television experience acting 3 years in a show in Finland and has done many commercials, music videos and short movies. She has directed and acted in various theatre projects in Barcelona and is currently working as an actress in Manes, a physical theatre performance of La Fura dels Baus. She also occasionally leads physical theatre workshops (e.g. two workshops and presentations of physical theatre in the festival ManInFest in Cluj-Napoca, Romania and as a Guest movement teacher for Summer Course at the IAB, Institute of the Arts, Barcelona). In 2019 Sanna participated as a resident artist in Make a Move, Creative Europe programme, in Rijeka, Croatia and Targu-Mures, Romania. She was also a resident artist in 2018 in KAI Residencia de Arte e Investigación in the Sacred Valley area, Peru. She has been selected as resident artist to Trinacria Open Residency, which will take place in Sicily, Italy, in July/August 2021.
Oscar Valsecchi trained at the Ecole Internationale de Mimodrame de Marcel Marceau in Paris and graduated at the International School of Corporeal Mime de Londres, also specialising in "Pedagogy and Directing". A former member of the Théâtre de l’Ange Fou in London, led by Steven Wasson and Corinne Soum, Oscar has been delivering classes, workshops and masterclass in several schools, universities and academies at an international level. Based in Barcelona since 2008, his credits include: El Arte de la Comedia, directed by Lluís Homar and produced by the National Theatre of Catalonia; Terra Baixa, directed by Pau Miró; Luces de Bohemia, directed by Lluis Homar at the María Guerrero Theatre in Madrid. He is currently memeber of ToTum Teatre and of Capicua, and actively works in film.
